THE SUN ALSO SETS

An extremely (un)subtle homage to Ernest Hemingway‘s Sun Also Rises about the post-war lost generation is apt here, as I imagine these sunsets show both the doom and gloom of their present and the light and promise fighting through the industrial context.  I do not think much needs to be said about these shots. The Sydney urban landscape is by no means as heavily populated as other great metropolis but this sunset has featured many nights in the last few months. It seems wherever I may be, whether it be in Darling Point staring out a window or at Woolloomooloo Wharf having a quick bite at one of my favorite pork belly at China Doll I cannot escape the luminescent glow of the sun’s rays flowing over the horizon. For those that haven’t I suggest you read it. So to you, Mr Hemingway, I call it a melange of Paris and San Sebastian!
